James "Minute" Wilkie

James "Minute" Wilkie was from North Sydney, Nova Scotia. He was a small hockey forward who had great skill, great speed, and an accurate shot. Wilkie starred for the 1913 Sydney Millionaires, who challenged Quebec for the Stanley Cup. In 1923, he played for Stellarton when Pictou County won the Maritime Professional Championship.
Wilkie played professional hockey until 1924, then moved to Cleveland, Ohio to join a senior team in the American League. He was also a star baseball player with New Waterford in Cape Breton's Professional Baseball League. James Wilkie is an Original Sport Hall of Fame Inductee.
